Match Report | A nail biting game which came down to the last ball. Winning the toss and batting first, all batsmen played well and got us our highest innings score (117) of the season to date. I was very impressed with our batting which has struggled in recent games. In reply we bowled well and with 5 overs remaining ONs only had 68 runs. Short bowling combined with some loose fielding brought gave the opposition cheap runs which kept them in the game. The last over was the tightest I've been involved in as coach... despite a brilliant catch from Thomas Kirk on the penultimate ball, they managed to score off the last ball to win the match. Congratulations to all boys on a valiant effort, especially George Patten who at 11 years old, made his debut for U13s. Many thanks to Charlie Batchelor for assisting and scoring. Jim |
