RESULT : Overstone won by 49 runs

Positives

- Only 1 wide/No ball bowled, fantastic effort

- Taking more wickets than the opposition

- Excellent fielding performance with 2 catches and 2 run outs. Good energy shown by all with good stops and chasing done by all.

- Only 5 byes conceded by Tom behind the stumps, excellent work.

Areas to work on

- Apologies for sounding like a scratched record but we must score on the offside if a team is bowling outside off stump, too many time I saw batsmen trying to hit balls bowled wide of off stump to the square leg fence.

- Running between wickets and non striker backing up. The opposition although losing a wicket through backing up too far scored in excess of 20 runs through quick singles due to positive backing up and calling. Many times I saw our batsmen still standing in the crease watching.

- Bowling on the batsmens legs or outside leg stump gives the batsmen an easy opportunity to score and we saw this with the opposition scoring 13 boundaries of which 12 were in the arc behind square on the leg side. We must be disciplined and bowl an off stump line.

Thanks

Paul Moxon for supplying beverages and bacon rolls, much appreciated.

Special thanks to Arthur Mitchell who ran the game and helped the team with warm up, umpring during the game and debrief at the end.

And as always many thanks to everyone who attended and cheered the team on.

kind regards
