We are looking forward to the start of the Junior season with Mixed sessions on Fridays starting with a "meet the coaches night" on 5th April at 6pm m (no training) and then the first training session on Friday 12th April. Ladies and Girls starts on Thursday 11th April for under 11 and 14 age groups and Ladies Nets.

 

There is availability for new girls and ladies members on Thursdays, Fridays is closed to new members in U9/11/13/15 groups with 3 spaces in Under 10s and 10 in Under 7s .

Brixworth Cricket Club is running camps for juniors in school years 1 to 9 on 24th to 28th July,  and 14th to 18th August these camps are based at Brixworth CC, Northampton Road NN6 9DQ. The camps will be fun, engaging and challenging and run by professional, qualified coaches from James Clifton of BCC and Uppingham and Chris Simmons of Repton school, with under 18 Brixworth senior players assisting. The camps will start at 9am and end at 3pm each day.

One of our parents has had one of their children use the services of Great Ormond Street Hospital and is runing a "sweets and Treats "stall tonight to raise much needed funded for this brilliant hospital. I am sure we all know somone who has had their child looked after by GOSH - pleas put your hands in your pockets and get your kids to buy something so we can put something back into GOSH!

Junior membership has been fantastic this year with unprecedented numbers of under 7s and under 9s from school years Reception  to year 4 our highest total ever with 110 across those years.  Sadly that means we cant accept any more members in those groups as we dont have more capacity. We do however have space for Under 11s, 13s and 15s. Junior training on Friday nights is a great night out with the bar, BBQ and ice cream cart in the warmer months!

The club is really sorry to say that our first training session of the new season is cancelled as the rain from earlier in the week together with last nights and todays means the pitch is too soft to play on. 

We hope to be on next week as the forecast looks much drier and warmer. 

Sorry to ruin your Friday - the good news is that the bar is still open from 5.45 so if you want to come along you can, the area outside of the pitch is still ok for kids to play on  -  its the cricket outfield which needs to dry out.

BCC has a thriving junior section that runs on Fridays, its held at Dallas Burston Ground just inside the village and membership opens in January 2023. We offer cricket to years 1 to 10 in age group squads of u7/9/11/131/15. Numbers are limited to 160 across the squads, the sessions are for boys and girls although the girls have a specific "Girls Only" session on Thursday nights for u11/13/15 year olds.

There is a busy social scene on Fridays with the bar open from 5.30 and a BBQ and Ice Cream stall in the warmer months, all parents and relatives are welcome to attend and socialise,  due to the licensing laws applicable only alcohol purchased on site is allowed, the money generated on Fridays keeps membership fees at a reasonable level. 

 

If you would like your child to attend please Join Us here to allow us to talk to you.  - Registration and payment links have been  sent to exisiting members in February and are we are now open to new members  in March 2023. If you can volunteer to help coach a group you can "Jump the queue" as volunteers are a integral part of the club. (You will be held to any committment!!)

Northamptonshire Cricket with 12 key clubs with girls sections have come together to create an under 11 girls league, fixtures will be on Sundays and will be festival style with multiple softball games against 5 other clubs.

Sunday 4th June – Old Northamptonians CC 

Sunday 11th June – Wellingborough Old Grammarians CC

the format is 8 a side softball, festivals will be run by Northants Cricket staff and Brixworth will be entering a side into every festival so save the dates!!
