Please support your club
Dear all
Hope everyone is keeping well
Further to our last communication
The ECB has extended the period without cricket until
July. We are planning for when lockdown eases and how we might be able
to play some cricket whilst ensuring everyone remains safe and
will share these plans once the national picture is clear.
The club remains in a precarious position financially as we are
without cricket we have no income. Our usual sponsorship income
has also reduced. We are able to complete the works started over the
winter and pay our immediate standing charges (thanks to grants
from DDC and Sport England) but after that funds are severely
limited. We are incredibly grateful to those of you who have paid
subscriptions and annual fees and left these with us – this
contribution has in no small way helped to keep us afloat and
totals around £5,000 of essential funds largely from junior and
ladies’ subscriptions. The club still needs further income to
safeguard our finances in 2021, where we will effectively be
starting all over again.
Whilst understanding that many of our members are dealing with
financial uncertainty, we’re now appealing to senior playing
members to make their own contribution. Please contact Russ
Parsons if you need the number. We’re suggesting a figure of £60 -
which equates to 4 match fees for those playing at the new ground
- and just over 5 for those at St David’s. We’re grateful to a
number of senior members who have already made donations. This
figure could be used in lieu of match fees should we be fortunate
enough to play some cricket later this year - or even held over
to next season, if not. Or if you’re happy to provide this simply
as a donation then that’s obviously even better which can be made
at
Please don’t forget the gift aid!

Covid-19 update from Committee
Dear all
Hope everyone is keeping well
Following the recent notification from the Secretary about suspending recreational cricket there have been a number of enquiries about whether we believe that cricket will be available this season. Some parents have asked if we intend to return junior membership fees as they are experiencing hardship as a direct result of the Coronavirus outbreak.
To answer the first question the honest answer is that we don't yet know, but we intend to always monitor the situation and if we can offer cricket we will, when we are permitted to do so by the authorities.
To answer the second question the honest answer again is that we do not have the funds to repay the membership fees lodged with the club so far. We are a family club and over the winter/spring we have further improved the facilities within the clubhouse itself and like all organisations income from all sources is used to pay bills - and we have been doing so in good faith as we prepare the club for what we hoped would be a great summer. It's always at this time of year that our funds are at their lowest, following winter spending on ground and clubhouse improvements, equipment servicing and general maintenance. We always then budget to receive club membership and sponsorship money to get us through our next phase of spending commitments, topped up by early season social events and, of course, bar income. The latter will clearly not be happening and we are in the process of contacting all sponsors with the same message as this communication about junior membership fees.
We do appreciate there are those who are experiencing sudden hardship so it is understandable that they ask the question about repayment. However, we request that as many parents as possible leave the fees paid so far with the club as we sincerely hope that we shall have some cricket at some stage. Should there be no prospect of cricket, we will carry that payment over to next year.
The Club is currently in a very tricky financial position with no immediate prospect of income during our enforced shut down, while at the same time incurring the usual expenses of any businesslike activity.
However, we should be seen to help as best we can and so exceptionally, please let us know whether you are experiencing hardship as a consequence of the Coved 19 outbreak.
Also, if you feel that you could help the club with a limited period loan, we would also like to hear from you urgently.
Please contact Mike on squarefoot@btinternet.com
This club has been in existence since the late 1920s. We have seen massive growth in the last few years and we are determined to continue on our path. With your help and with the ongoing support of all our sponsors and members we will find a way to come through this together.

Ladies 2020 season starts!
Hi everyone,
The 2020 cricket season is just around the corner so here is an email with all the relevant information on it for the coming season.

We are starting training on the 2nd April 6.00 to 7.30 for girls and 6.30 to 8.00 for ladies, this is also our registration night where we would like to complete everyone's registration on the website. To make this run more smoothly please can you go into “your account” on the website and re=save your medical history, contact details and check anything that may have changed.
If you have forgotten your password then the system has a “forgotten password “ option.
Members fee for this year is £65 which you can pay on the night in cash, cheque or on card at the bar.
Please bring along any friends who may want to try cricket, everyone is welcome!
New Competitions
We have been to several meetings with the club and county and have entered some new competitions, they can be found on the following page on the website but the formats are:-
Midweek Hardball League for Women and Girls (Year 8 and above on Wednesdays in Northants)
East Midlands Super 8s (hardball in Northants, South Lincs, Leics on Sundays, year 8 and above)
East Midlands Softball League (Leics, Rutland, Northants aged 13 and up)
Softball Festivals (women and girls, Northants, year 5 and up).
Can you fill in this survey to let us know what format you would like to play
https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/D8RTVKQ
Match Fees
This year we will be introducing match fees for fixtures £5 for adults n £3 for under 18s apart from Softball festivals where we will be asking for a contribution of £2 per person. The cost of running the cricket club keeps increasing and the preparation of the grounds and maintenance of the clubhouse are a significant burden on the club. This will also give us a budget to send coaches into schools at Moulton and NSG to attract more players.( In previous years this was funded through a grant). The club spent £9000 on new toilets and improvements to the showers to accommodate the increased number of women and girls at the club.

Are you a cricket widow? Ladies Softball Nights start on April 4th
Ladies Softball nights start on the 4th April at 7pm at the Dallas Burston Ground.
Its all about fun and giving ladies an opportunity to play local, social cricket in the Brixworth area, with like minded ladies and girls. Sessions are run by qualified coaches and are aimed to introduce ladies to cricket who want to pick up a new activity. Its softball (so doesnt hurt!) cricket and the ladies range from teenagers to ladies in their 40s to 60's.
We play in tournaments across the county if you are feeling competitive or if not just come to sessions at Brixworth where we train and play games every Thursday.
So if you want a bit more excercise come down on a Thursday, the kids can play on the outfield and send Dad to the bar to get your cool drink ready for the end of the session!
